The eCF is now in it's 8th year and is recognised across the sector as the best place to share expertise among peers and debate the latest key topics in the campaign sphere.
This year's debate is around the hotly-contested issue of 'Activism vs. Slacktivism' which has been a high profile issue in the media, particularly given the social upheaval across the middle east and the legitimacy of the role digital media played in it.
As Duane from Fairsay, the organisers of the eCF, summises: "All activism depends on the belief and hope by participants that acting together will make a difference. With increasing debate and rhetoric around the influence and power of digital activism, what will the future be for this form of mobilisation if misinformed commentary or ill-conceived use of digital tools and networks attempt to undermine it?"
Along side that there will be a series of workshops and breakout sessions discussing a range of topics from open data and using mobile apps through to how to most effectively use digital to campaign against the coalition cuts.
There are still places available that you can apply for - so if you are a digital specialist interested in advocacy, campaigning or just the exchange of bright ideas - get yourself booked in; it runs from the evening of Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd March.
If you're a Because member and are heading down there, let us know @becauseitsgood and we can hook up in person!
