eCampaigning Forum 2011 highlights

The Because team spent two busy and inspiring days among fellow 'eCFers' at St. Anne's College, Oxford, where the un-conference program delivered a whole load of insightful workshops and ideas.

Jussi Kivipuro from Greenpeace International kicked off with an interesting talk on how they are using mobile to break campaigns in China and how mobile can integrate with your broader social media activity.

Then the open space sessions began, small breakout groups with crowd-sourced agendas. Everything from Augmented reality to Building online communities in the global south, a huge plethora of ideas and experiences, some great, some just way out there, but all committed to pushing things forward through digital innovation.

Another highlight was also from Greenpeace; Jamie Woolley demonstrating how they pursued a sustainable fishing campaign with some really smart thinking and agile tactics.

All credit should go to Duane and his team for organising yet another fascinating event; it's easy to see why attendees come back year after year.

For more information on what went on, check out the eCF live wiki which has a load of content and presentations uploaded on it.
